Mike Lohse · Director of Engineering

Mike heads up the Sparkfactor Ignite group. He has designed over 20 products and has been the technical lead on another 10+ products. His experience spans underwater vehicles and force-feedback robots to low-cost, high-volume toys.

Previously, Mike was the director of an advanced technology group at a high-tech-toy-company-turned defense contractor. In this role he was responsible for identifying and integrating new technologies into existing products as well as creating rapid prototypes of new products . He was also the lead mechanical engineer for high volume rugged handhelds and a number of electro-optic devices and networking components. Prior to that, Mike worked at SensAble Technologies on the Phantom Desktop which won an IDEA Bronze Award in 2000.

Mike holds a BSME from Northwestern and a MS in ocean engineering from MIT and is named on three patents.
