Dash Express is the first internet-connected automotive navigation system to hit the streets, and Sparkfactor Design helped get it there.

In 2004 Sparkfactor Design joined forces with Dash Navigation a five person start-up. We worked side-by-side to develop an in-car navigation system from proof-of-concept through production, providing engineering, industrial design, & user interaction support.

What makes the Dash story so unique?

We integrated into Dash's development team, attending cross-disciplinary design meetings. This allowed for rapid resolution of some thorny design issues. The tight package integration of the 3 radios required balancing size, performance, & the interaction with on-screen data in a mobile environment.

The result is Dash Express, the most sophisticated navigation experience on your dashboard. CNET & LAPTOP name Dash Express “Best of CES” for Car Tech & GPS. Our road trip continues as we help develop future versions as well.
